Smartair is a long established flight training provider with 50 year's experience and a reputation for quality training. Whether you want to learn to fly for fun, or you’re contemplating a serious career path, we can show you how.
With our flexible training model, Smartair can tailor programs to suit your needs. We provide personal service to full time trainees seeking a career or weekend enthusiasts who treat flying as a hobby.
With Smartair, you can learn to fly safely, in an uncluttered airspace, with experienced and friendly instructors in both Albury and Bathurst.
While there’s no minimum age for flying training, you must be at least 16 before flying solo, 17 before you can hold a Private Pilots Licence and 18 years old for the Commercial Pilots Licence.
There is no maximum age restriction for the Private Licence. While there are no formal educational requirements necessary to begin flying training, some maths or science training will be helpful.
Starting with no aviation experience at all, you can graduate from our 150-hour Commercial Pilot Licence course in just 37 weeks if studying full-time. From there, we can take you on to a Multi-Engine Endorsement and Command Instrument Rating in a matter of weeks. You can be fully qualified to start your career as a charter pilot in less than a year, which means you get into the industry and working years ahead of those pursuing tertiary training options. If you want further training on specific twin-engine or turbo-prop aircraft in preparation for an airline career, we can provide you with that training as well.
Smartair's instructors are active and experienced charter pilots: airmen who really understand the industry and are trained to pass on their knowledge.
